Adorning the front of this eco-friendly greeting card is a Painted Lady butterfly accompanied by a snippet of nature writing, a great card to bring a touch of nature into someone’s day and put a smile on their face.
The painted lady on the front of this eco-friendly greeting card was seen in the Patterdale Valley in the Lake District National Park during the summer of 2019. It was a particularly good summer for these butterflies that year, their presence in extraordinary numbers reflecting this.
The snippet of nature writing that accompanies the painted lady butterfly on the front of this eco-friendly greeting card says:
“During an early-morning sortie, I spy a butterfly, a Painted Lady braving a labyrinth of spikes and spines on a quest to quench her thirst for thistle nectar. Her flight path seems all higgledy-piggledy and highly unpredictable, but she seeks out and alights on that flower with impeccable accuracy and aerial finesse, her dainty wings not even slightly scathed, showing that she has more control over her destiny than one would at first be led to believe.”
