The Herdwick sheep on the front of this eco-friendly greeting card was seen during a walk in the Patterdale Valley in the Lake District. The Lake District is England’s largest national park and is said by many people to be the most beautiful national park, too.
The Herdwick sheep is a classic Lakeland breed, able to thrive in the uplands year-round.
You can find some delightful words describing my encounter with Herdwick sheep in Patterdale in the following piece of nature writing: ‘A Trio fo Swallows‘.
In order to minimise harm to the planet and all forms of life that inhabit it, we do our best to make our greeting cards as eco-friendly as possible.
As with all of our greeting cards, this Herdwick sheep greeting card is made with FSC certified paper. The inks are vegetable-based and biodegradable. The card comes with an envelope made from recycled, unbleached paper and is packed inside a transparent wrapper that is 100% biodegradable and compostable. The product is plastic-free.
Furthermore, 10% of the sale price of this greeting card will be donated to Friends of the Lake District, an independent charity that is dedicated to the protection and enhancement of the landscapes in Cumbria and the Lake District.
